Module Objectives
1. You will locate features of
Africa with a minimum of 80% accuracy on an independent quiz.
2. You will discuss environmental issues across the continent of Africa with peers on a discussion forum in a manner that meets our discussion forum rubric at a minimum of 80% quality.
3. Collaboratively with your assigned group, you will design a plan for your wiki project group specifying each individual role and the schedule.

2. Answer any questions you can on your Seek and Find Africa handout. using the following websites:

4. Read Chapter 2 of our textbook and complete the chapter review exercises as a self-check of learning. Outline notes provided for download. Please turn your exercises into the dropbox.
5. Read the downloadable handout, Africa’s Environmental Issues (outline notes provided).
6. Watch the digital slideshow about environmental issues in Africa.

7. Take the module quiz, which can be found in our learning management system under "Quiz: Africa Environment." This quiz will be automatically graded.
8. Participate in the module discussion forum. This forum can be found in our learning management system under "Africa discussion: Module 1." Here is the prompt: If you were planning a trip through Africa to see 5 geographic landmarks that are experiencing environmental change, which landmarks would you chose and how would you plan your trip by land transportation? Tell us the path, travel means, and why you made these choices. Your forum participation will be graded using our discussion forum rubric (rubric sample #3 at http://www.mtsu.edu/ltanditc/docs/Discussion_Board_Rubrics.pdf)
9. Students will synchronously meet with their wiki group to make a project plan. Please email your group leader a good time to meet on Wednesday in our synchronous tool Wimba. Don't miss your meeting! The group leader must turn in the Project Plan Checklist, which can be downloaded from the list above.
10. Write a reflection blog post that addresses the following prompt: What is the most valuable thing(s) you learned about Africa’s environment, and why do you believe this was important to learn?
